A timely discussion and a unique chance for Melbourne
audiences to hear and meet leading Indigenous activists and elders from
around Australia.
Politics, history and spirituality are woven into the stories of
Indigenous people asserting their sovereign rights to Country and their
human rights to maintain and protect their living culture. Hear the
realities of contemporary Indigenous experience, personal stories of
resistance and learn ways to contribute to the ongoing movement towards
rights, recognition and respect.
A follow-up event to the successful 'Burning the Sacred Fire' Indigenous
Women's speaking tour and an additional information session to the Black
GST meetings.
Come taste Sovereign-TEA and other Bushfood treats. Indigenous Art on
display. Films, books and merchandise for sale.
